Finally I've made some time to get back to my photoshooting! I've really missed it over the past few weeks. My creative mind is crying out for attention. Perfect timing seeing as I have a lot of amazing plants either on the verge of blooming or just starting to bloom. I think most people plant gardens because they love gardening. I plant so that I have subjects to take photos of!!
Here is a shot of my peony plant that has been a most wonderful bloom in my garden. It is just in the process of blooming and I'm thinking by next week this time it may have already started the process. In this shot I used a PSE effect, where I highlighted one area and did a type of spotlight effect on it. I really like how it turned out and can't wait till I have full blooms to snap away!!!

Glad to see you back! I love peonies but I transplanted mine 2 years ago and still have no blooms...sadness.
It's good to be back Lizzy!! Not too worry about your peonies... this one took about 2 years to do anything and now it blooms like crazy! Maybe this is the year for you.. :-)
love the way this looks. by the way the day you wrote about getting the scott kelby book was the day mine arrived in the mail. I bought one used (version 6 though) through amazon. like it so far.
