My 6 year old is teaching himself to type by typing out the "learn to read" Spongebob books he has. He goes into our computer room with his books in hand, shuts the door ,cranks up the music and types away .... one peck at a time. Yesterday he actually kicked his dad off the computer just so he could get his "work" in. I happened to be there when he was just finishing up his recent one and he was so excited. He then staples all his typing together and reads it to us. I figure he's doing 2 things - learning to type and improving his reading - so I'm trying to ignore all the computer paper that he's using up!

Adorable story. Our little guy can barely see the keyboard and loves to say "type type type".
Awww this is so sweet and what a great way to learn both things.
