In light of International Woman's Day on March 8th, I am participating in a walking event that was orgainzed at work. We each have a pedometer and our goal is to each walk 6000 steps between March 7th - March 8th. The reason for the 6000 steps is in support of those women who walk 6 km per day just to get the basic needs of life (water, firewood etc). All money raised is going towards improving the lives of those women and girls who live in the poorest communities in our world, who need to walk 6km per day just to survive. wow thats awesome!!!!!! be sure to post on how many you walked. they say a goal of 10000 steps a day will help maintain your health. And you will be surprised at how many steps you take just doing your normal routine.
