So seeing that it has been the rainiest June I can remember, the other day it was clear (meaning no rain!!) so J & I decided to walk to school to pick up K. What a memorable walk.
This is the same old walk we've been doing for years but for the first time I saw it differently.
We walked along hand in hand (oh I love that my almost 5 year old still reaches for my hand to hold my hand!) and I asked him what he could find on our walk. Well this is what he found:
1 beetle (that he keeps calling a mosquito)
3 bumble bees (the cute ones)
8 ants
1 fly
1 worm
I loved to watch J bend down and analyse the little critters that he found. I could tell that he was very excited by each new "friend" that we found, and as soon as we saw K he told her all about what we found on our walk.
It was one of those "mom" moments that I will never forget and that I am so grateful to have been there for.
Of course this made me think what a great scrapbook page this would make.. I just need to go out and take some bug photos now!
